Co-ed Touch Football - Winter '08 

ZogSportsNJ is back for our annual winter football league!!!  Worried about the blistering cold... forget about it, we're playing in the heated bubble at the Meadowlands!!!  That's right baby, welcome to the big leagues, we're joining the Giants & Jets at their practice facilities out at The Meadowlands.   

 

How Does It Work?

It's 8 on 8, 5 men and 3 women on the field at all times.  It's no contact, 2-hand touch football.  And we keep it exciting for everyone on the team through our three divisions (Players, Sorta Players and Casual) and our female as a primary player rule (see Rules below)

 

What's the Cost and What's Included?

The Early Registration deadline is November 16th, with registration closing on December 7th or earlier if the league sells out.  Early Registration fees are $1,150 for a team of 12-15 players ($35 for each additional player over 15 - no limit to number of players on your roster) and $115 for individuals (we'll get everyone on a team).  Regular Registration prices are $1,250 for a full team and $125 for individual players (after November 16th).  ZogSportsNJ donates a percentage of our profit to charity.

 

Fee includes:

7 regular season games and 1 scrimmage
One head referee/game
A heart-wrenching single elimination playoff tournament
One t-shirt per person on the roster
Field fees
Equipment
"Prize Money" from our sponsors donated to the winning team's charity of choice
League administration
Organized Happy Hours at local bars after the games

When Does It Start?

We are having pre-season scrimmages on Monday, January 7th.  The season starts on Monday, January 14th and then runs on WEDNESDAY evenings from January through March.  Games start at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 pm.   

Where Are We Playing?

All games will be played in the Bubble at the Meadowlands.  This is a truly awesome facility that you are going to be pumped up about!  Plenty of free parking is available and public transportation is available by bus to Manhattan and throughout New Jersey.  Click here information about public transportation or for Maps & Directions.

What Are the Rules?

This is a fun recreational touch football league.  So we want everyone to play, stay involved and stay safe.  The key rules are:

8 on 8, 5 men and 3 women on the field at all times
No contact, 2-hand touch
A woman must be a Primary Player on a play within 3 consecutive plays
Scoring - 6 points for touchdown and your decision for 1 or 2-point conversion.  (After the game, the team that has the most fun wins)

Levels of Play

Players - Ex-high school jock?  Still think you have game?  If you want to win and play hard this is the league for you.

Sorta Players - Pretty good athletes, maybe played together before, but still social. 

Casual - Looking for a social fun league?  Not a bad athlete?  This is the league for you.

 

ZogSports NJ will try to accommodate all team and individual player requests for Division, but cannot guarantee all requests.  We will not place a team or player more than 1 division (above or below) their original request.
